The WorldCC Foundation and The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) are proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This marks a significant step towards their shared mission of transforming global contracting practices to be more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-aligned.
The strategic partnership brings together two globally respected non-profit organisations, united by a vision to drive systemic change through contracts. The MoU underscores a shared commitment to promote sustainable and transparent contracting through open-source tools, research, and community engagement. By combining TCLP’s expertise in climate-conscious legal drafting with the WorldCC Foundation’s leadership in sustainable and inclusive commercial practices, the partnership aims to support organisations, communities, and industries in embedding sustainability into the heart of their operations.
Through the strategic partnership, both parties have committed to a series of collaborative actions, including joint participation in events such as World Sustainable Contracting Day, cross-promotion of educational resources, and the integration of TCLP’s model clauses into WorldCC Foundation’s Sustainability Clause Library.
“This strategic partnership is a natural fit,” said Sally Guyer, CEO & President of WorldCC Foundation. “Our organisations share the belief that contracts are not just legal tools, but catalysts for real-world impact. By joining forces with TCLP, we’re expanding our reach and empowering more professionals to contract in ways that support both people and planet.”
Natasha Morgan, Head of Legal Content at The Chancery Lane Project, added:
“At TCLP, we know contracts are powerful tools for climate action. By partnering with the WorldCC Foundation, we’re expanding access to climate-aligned clauses that turn sustainability goals into enforceable commitments. Already adopted by over 160 organisations, our clauses help reduce emissions, manage risk, and align supplier expectations, while supporting a smooth and credible transition to net zero. Together, we’re making it easier for legal professionals and businesses around the world to take meaningful, practical steps toward a 1.5°C future.”
The partnership is another milestone in the growing global movement toward responsible business practices that address environmental and social imperatives.
